The Kenai Schutzhund
Club is planning three seminars and three trials this year. Break-up (the time of year when ice and snow starts to melt and winter gives way to spring) is usually far enough
along in mid-April that we can start tracking. By May, the obedience and protection
field is dry enough for use. Although we have been working in obedience
and protection all winter in one of Anchorage's indoor horse arenas, its small size and restricted available times have limited
the skills that can be practiced.
We are planning
a two-day Seminar and two-day Trial with Doug Deacon in June. In July or August, we hope to hold a two-day
Trial and one-day Seminar with Raino Flugge. Finally, in September we will be holding a two-day Seminar and Trial with
Jim Elder.
